The folks at Grayson Hobby demonstrate hoe to update the Jumper T16's internal multi-protocol module.

Josh shows how simple the process is to upload/flash new firmware for the multi-protocol module. For some reason he keeps saying Taranis, but it is the Jumper T16 that he is doing.

FrSky announced new firmware for their receivers and transmitters that is not compatible with the Jumper T16. He discussed ways around this "dillema".

The author of the video shares his OPINION as to whether you should "upgrade" from JumperTX to OpenTX.

He goes through the three steps required to update the MPM firmware.

Joshua Bardwell's is much better, but I left this here as it might be more applicable for Mode 1 fliers.

His Jumper T16 internal multi protocol module did not come with a bootloader because he had an earlier version. He did the bootloader update using a CP2102 USB-to-Serial adaptor. He has links to videos of how to do this.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is only necessary on some of the very first T16s. The Jumper T16 Pro does NOT require this procedure! Updating the Multi-Protocol Module firmware is very easy on the Jumper T16 Pro. This video can be ignored if you have the Jumper T16 Pro.

Notes the critical update of OpenTX to 2.3.5

This video is informative if someone is confused about the two different bootloader programs in the T16. This video answers questions regarding the bootloader for both the multi-protocol module and OpenTX.

He updates his older, original, Jumper T16 with the external module to OpenTX. First he downloads the latest version of OpenTX Companion. He flashes OpenTX to the radio. He removes the SD Card and saves the SD Card contents to the computer, deletes the contents of the SD Card and then copies the new SD Card contents onto the SD Card and returns the card to the radio. The radio is then calibrated. Finally he retrieves his saved models and puts them on the radio.

Josh goes through downloading the latest stable OpenTX 2.3.3 by downloading Companion and setting it up that way. He does note the file structure he's using on the his computer. (The current stable version of OpenTX, Dec. 31, 2019 is 2.3.4)

Very short video demonstrating that the firmware version 2.3.3 is now available for the Jumper T16.
(The current stable version of OpenTX, Dec. 31, 2019 is 2.3.4. It happened within days of the release of 2.3.3)

Shows how to update the 4 in 1 Module. It is in German though.

Shows how to do it by just transferring the files for the OS and SD card to the SD Card. This may, or may not, be my preferred way to do it.
Even though the date is Dec. 4, 2019, he's using the older version of the Jumper with the red sticker not the current version with the white sticker.

How to flash internal module

Demonstrates how to load the firmware from the computer without putting the SD card into the computer. At the time this video was produced he notes that Companion for the Jumper CANNOT BE USED TO UPDATE FIRMWARE. It can now.
Jumper T16 is now shipped with OpenTX, not JumperTX, but the process is the same.

This is NOT specific to the Jumper T16, but the process is the same. The Jumper T16 did not exist at this time.
